Oyster Mushroom Pails

Oyster Mushroom Pails

DIY Homesteader Festival Workshop:

Oyster Mushroom Pails

Join Tom Nagy of River City Mushrooms to learn how to cultivate oyster mushrooms in pails – a great option for small spaces. Tom will also share about oyster mushroom identification, anatomy, natural habitat, preferred substrates, necessary growing conditions, fruiting environments, harvest techniques and methods for expansion / propagation.

Hands-on: Participants will work together with to set up a few oyster mushroom pails. A few participants will win the pails and take them home!

Accessibility: This workshop takes place in an outdoor shelter on grass or pine-needle forest floor (not as pokey as it sounds). We can have a desk and chair available at the workshop space upon request in the event it is not accessible for a participant to sit on the ground or on a hay bale.
