Foresthood at the Fest

We are so over the moon about this new collaboration with Momenta! We have wanted to add some form of childcare to the fest for quite some time, yet felt it was beyond our capacity. Much thanks to ECE and forest school practitioner extraordinaire, Mavis Lewis-Webber for stepping in to help us figure things out and connecting us with the amazing people at Momenta – which ultimately led to Foresthood at the Fest!

Details
Children between 4 – 12 are invited to join the experienced teachers of Momenta’s Foresthood for adventure-based learning in a poplar forest at the fest. Foresthood is designed to connect children to nature and engage them with all of their senses. They will work on developing socially, finding calm, being physically active, being stewards of the land, and building natural skills in safe and age-appropriate ways.

DIY Homesteader Festival attendees receive a discounted rate of $17/child/2.5 hour session at the fest (regular $21/2.5 hours). Drop your kiddo(s) off for their own nature-based learning adventure while you take in a workshop.*

This experience is best suited for children who are comfortable leaving their parents for extended periods of time.

Session Schedule

Designed around fest workshops.

  1. 8:30am – 11:00am
  2. 11:00am-1:30pm
  3. 2:30pm – 5:00pm

* In order to keep this exciting opportunity open to as many families as possible, we ask that parents limit pre-registration to two sessions per child. If, on fest weekend, there are still spaces available, families who have already filled out the paperwork will be able to add on extra sessions.

Registration is all taken care of through Momenta’s website. Click the button below to register!
