Thanks for thinking of joining the community of teachers at the festival. Our heart is to offer quality teachings on a wide variety of homesteading-related topics, and to provide an engaging and safe space for all who are interested to learn. We warmly invite members of under-represented or marginalized populations to join the community and contribute to a wonderful diversity of ideas and perspectives: this includes, but is not limited to LGBTQ2+ and BIPOC folks. Please reach out to us if you’d like to talk. We are continually learning – if you would like to see our language updated, reach out. We’re listening.

That will help us have a better idea of what the topic outlook will be for the 2019 fest. Want to teach but don’t have teaching experience? We feel strongly that quality education is important. People come out to the fest to connect with others, connect with the land, and to equip themselves with skills they need to accomplish their homesteading goals. So, we do our best to provide a fantastic gratitude package for each teacher. At this point, the fest is not a profitable venture, so we are somewhat limited in our capacity. In 2017 we paid out over $5000 in teacher thank-you packages! We hope this will grow with each fest and that you’ll hang in there with us as we grow! For 2019, we are offering:
// Complimentary one-day entry ticket for yourself and your partner for each day you teach
// Lunch for yourself on each day you teach
// FREE one-day space in the outdoor festival market where you can sell your goods
// Promotion of your business on our accounts
// Mileage reimbursement of up to $50 upon request
// Honorarium (please note if more than one person is teaching the workshop, the honorarium is split, and you both get the items above).
